Comparing Environmental Costs:
Conventional:
Concrete foundation & timber "platform" framed, cladded in OSB (Oriented Strand/Chip Board)
End of Lifecycle: Demolition
vs
Entelligant:
Deep foundation (steel shaft), post & beam/space frame hybrid (steel) with panelized sub-floor and wall cladding (fiber cement)
End of Lifecycle: Designed For Deconstruction (DFD) potential for 700 years of re-use
Material: Costs of production
Material: End of Lifecyle
Land: Grading, dig footings, preparation for construction
01
This is a Carbon Sequestration Machine
It is yet to be built and looks extremely expensive and needy for energy to remove CO2 and pump it thousands of feet into the earth
02
Tree "Machine Factory"
This is a forest, but you could (and probably should think of it as a "tree machine multi-purpose factory"
The machine works for free, as it is sequestering CO2 it simultaneously produces fresh oxygen, it purifies water, mitigates floods and droughts, detoxifies and decomposes wastes, generates and renews soil fertility, aids in the pollination of crops and natural vegetation, controls the vast majority of potential agricultural pests, disperses seeds and translocate nutrients, maintains biodiversity from which humanity has derived key elements if its agricultural, medicinal and industrial enterprise, protects from the sun's harmful UV rays, partial stabilization of climate, moderates temperature extremes and the force of winds and waves, supports diverse human cultures, provides aesthetic beauty and intellectual stimulation that lift the human spirit.
